Insurance and Financial Information

Neal Family Dentistry operates as a fee-for-service, out-of-network practice. We believe you deserve to know exactly what to expect financially, so here's a clear look at how billing and insurance work in our office.

How Insurance Works Here: We don't hold contracts with dental insurance companies, but as a courtesy, we'll still bill most commercial insurance plans on your behalf. We're also an in-network provider for Michigan's Healthy Kids Dental Plan. We are not able to accept HMO plans or Medicaid.

In cases where your insurer pays us directly, you'll be responsible for your estimated share — copays, deductibles, and anything your plan doesn't cover — at the time of your visit. If your insurer doesn't pay providers directly, we'll ask for payment in full at your appointment, and your insurance company will reimburse you afterward.

We handle the paperwork and submit claims for you as a courtesy. That said, we'd encourage you to get familiar with your own plan's coverage and benefits — HIPAA rules limit how much of your insurance information we're able to access directly.

Ways to Pay: We accept cash, personal checks, all major credit cards, and CareCredit financing for those who'd like a payment plan.

About Estimates and Final Balances: Any coverage estimate from your insurance company is just that — an estimate. Actual payments can differ, and whatever isn't covered becomes your responsibility. We ask that balances be settled within 30 days. Accounts still outstanding after 90 days may be turned over to collections, and we reserve the right to apply interest to unpaid balances.

Dental insurance can be genuinely confusing — we're glad to help walk you through your benefits any time. Give our office a call if you have questions about your coverage or your bill.
